CO Colloquium "High-Performance Data Science with Modern C++: Xeus-Cling and G3P"
Date: 12 February 2025 @ 17:00 - 18:00
Topic: "High-Performance Data Science with Modern C++: Xeus-Cling and G3P"Speaker: Armin Sobhani, SHARCNETVideo link --- This is a series of talks about using modern C++ for high-performance data science. In the first talk of the series, we talk a little bit about the pros and cons of using C++ for data science projects and then we cover Xeus-Cling (https://github.com/jupyter-xeus/xeus-cling ) and G3P (https://github.com/g3p) for rapid-prototyping of C++ codes and embedding plots and charts in a Jupyter notebook, respectively. The whole series will be available as an executable book (https://executablebooks.org/) at https://arminms.github.io/high-performance-data-science-with-modern-cpp.---The Compute Ontario Colloquia are weekly Zoom presentations on Advanced Research Computing, High Performance Computing, Research Data Management, and Research Software topics, delivered by staff from three Compute Ontario consortia (CAC, SciNet, SHARCNET) and guest speakers. The series began January 2023 and superseded similar series previously delivered by individual consortia (e.g. General Interest Seminars by SHARCNET or User Group Meeting TechTalks by SciNet). The colloquia are one hour long and include time for questions. No registration is required. Presentations are usually recorded and uploaded to the hosting consortium video channel (colloquia hosted by SHARCNET go to our youtube channel).
